  [GUILLAUME de LORRIS, JEAN de MEUNG] – Roman de la Rose [and] [RABBI SAMUEL] – Epistola contra Iudaeorum errores. [France, 1300-1325 (I), after 1339 (II)]. French (I) and Latin (II) manuscript on vellum, c. 24,7 x 19 cm, 163 ff., written by at least two copyists (one each for I & II), in brown and black/brown ink. Preserved in a mod. conservation binding of overlapping pigskin, flat spine, mod. vellum endpapers; quires sewn; first and last ff. mounted.

987  [Miniature – Flanders] – [Pentecost], Flanders, c. 1490-1500. Leaf from a Book of Hours on vellum, miniature 15 x 10,7 cm, leaf 17,2 x 11,5 cm. Passe-partout.

989  [Music – Spain] – Graduel. [Tolède], XVIe s. Manuscrit ornementé en latin, vélin, +/- 38,5 x 29,5 cm, en cahiers séparés (1 cahier mal assemblé), conservés dans une reliure de réemploi de l’époque, 40 x 30 cm, veau brun (qqs frottements et éraflures), fermoirs, écoinçons et cabochons métalliques (renouvelés) sur les plats divisés en 2 larges compartiments encadrés de roulettes ornementées et ornés de croix de Saint-André et de fleurons à froid, dos à 7 nerfs (restauré), entrenerfs ornés de croisillons à froid, 7 cahiers totalisant 46 f. (composition inégale : 10, 8, 8, 7, 4, 4, 5 avec le f. [42] détaché; qqs souillures d’usage), grande écriture gothique, notation neumatique carrée en noir sur portées de 5 ou 6 lignes en rouge. Cfr. ill. € 1000/1500 Manuscrit incomplet conservant une partie de l’oeuvre du compositeur espagnol \ »Maestro Blanco\ » qui semble inconnu jusqu’ici. Provenance : D’après son contenu, le manuscrit provient de Tolède. Cette origine est confirmée par certaines graphies (\ »Kyrie por il primo\ », f. 12v, \ »Introito\ » et \ »salbatorem\ », f. 31v et l’inscription du f. 44v). Ex-libris armorié Baron de Launoit.

992  [Music] – Antiphonarium. [Northern Low Countries ?, 15th c. ?], Latin manuscript on vellum, c. 29 x 19,5 cm, remains of original embossed half leather binding over wood (worn, lower cover loose, leather of covers partly gone, that of spine largely preserved, bosses of front cover and 1 of lower cover gone, clasps gone), wood covers with bevelled edges, spine on 5 raised bands, 3 bosses on lower cover preserved, metal catches, [248] ff. (collation : A-V12, W14; lacking S11, T4 & T9, V10 & V11, W2 & W5, all (?) after W14; thumbing esp. at bottom fore-edge corner, some soiling, bottom margin of ff. [209, 232, 242, 248] cut off, burning holes in upper half of bottom margin of 1st ff. touching some letters), written in black ink. In reasonably good condition for a manuscript that has been used for what it had been written for. Cfr. ill. € 3000/5000 Interesting extensive pre-Tridentine liturgical music manuscript with music (neumes) on 4 staves. With 8 additional ff. on paper bound with between ff. 132-133 (4, dated \ »1702\ »), f. 184-185 (2 with \ »Missa SS Rosarij\ ») and f. [201-202]; half vellum f. between f. [211-212]. Also some later additions to the music. Curious contemp. foliation in red ink within circles in middle of fore-edge margin up to f. 192. Origin : probably from the Northern Low Countries with references to \ »Sci lebuini\ » (f. 111r, 137r), \ »Sci Odulfi\ » (f. 108r), \ »Sci Willebrordi\ » (f. 136v). Decoration : ill. on f. [217]r; rubricated in red or blue with 5-line initials; 8 very large initials i.a. f. 2r within border of c. 11 x 9 cm, on a blue or green floral background within gilt borders; somewhat grotesque or decorated initials on f. 19v, 81r, 103v; a few initials extending into the margin and 3 sm. pen-drawings i.a. Virgin with child (f. W13r, lower margin).

995  [Psalter] – Illuminated text leaf from a Psalter in Latin on vellum, Flanders, c. 1300, 15 x 10,8 cm. Under passe-partout.
